Korunda Medical Institute is pleased to announce a new and innovative way for our patients to obtain a holistic and therapeutic approach to their health care needs.
We will be offering Group Visits with our healthcare providers on Wednesdays and Thursdays in the office, targeting several different topics regarding health care prevention and chronic diseases, plus much more. |

A group visit is a shared medical appointment that involves multiple patients, with similar concerns or chronic conditions, being seen as a group for follow-up or routine care. This type of visit allows the patient 60 minutes of time with a healthcare provider covering issues they have concerns about in a group setting versus traditional 15 minutes of one-on-one time with the provider. This is a visit that is covered by most healthcare insurance.
During these visits, the patients are provided with a secure and interactive setting that allows them enhanced access to their healthcare provider. This also allows for the patients to share their personal experiences and advice with one another. Patients are able to see both positive and negative results from other patients who share similar medical disease and to allow for inspiration for positive lifestyle changes from those individuals who share their success stories.
These types of visits can be satisfying to both the providers and the patients, because it allows for an enhanced visit for the patient and the ability to offer holistic and therapeutic approaches to many medical issues.
The Journal of the American Board of Family Medicine has indicated after an extensive review of all articles relating to group visits for a 30 year period of time, that patients experienced reduced obesity, blood pressure, and cholesterol, as well as improved health behaviors and overall quality of life.
