| Understanding Hyperlipidemia: |
| Hyperlipidemia can best be described as an excess of lipids, or fatty substances, within the blood. There are two varieties of hyperlipidemia which are hypercholesterolemia and hypertriglyceridemia. The first type is an instance of high cholesterol whereas the next one deals with high amounts of triglycerides, or fat. Hyperlipidemia is a concern for those who have it as it can lead to a blockage of the arteries and ultimately a heart attack and also coronary heart disease. Many who have hyperlipidemia do not know it right away as it usually has no distinct symptoms and only is discovered when the individual has a physical examination or has another medical condition which draws attention to it. Dr. Korunda can help determine if treatment for high cholesterol is necessary. |
| How Is Hyperlipidemia Treated? |
